There will be a silent 3-day auction, and a “Buy it Now” option will be available on some items. There will also be a Live Auction of selected works of art on Friday night called by Thomaston Place Auction Galleries’ auctioneer Kaja Veilleux.

HSKC Board President Nancie Burton noted: “We are thrilled by the generosity of local artists and merchants who have donated items to help support the animals in our care. This year’s auction we are celebrating the 20th Anniversary for Art for the Animals, and I hope people and visitors will stop by Watts Hall and bid from the heart on these great pieces. And, everyone’s invited to the live Auction and Reception on Friday evening, when auctioneer Kaja Veilleux, will call for bids on some very special items.”
Silent auction viewing and bidding will be available Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9 (10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday). The live auction and reception will take place on Friday evening: reception begins at 6:00 p.m., and the live auction commences at 7:00 p.m. All auction items can also be viewed at the HSKC website (www.hskcME.org). The Humane Society of Knox County was founded in 1989 to provide care, protection, and loving homes for abandoned and homeless companion animals in the Midcoast Maine area. The Society operates an animal shelter located between the Dexter Street Extension and Buttermilk Lane in Thomaston that is open between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. every day except Wednesday. The Humane Society of Knox County provides animal support services to the towns of: Rockland, Thomaston, Warren, Owls Head, St. George (including Port Clyde, Martinsville, and Tenants Harbor), S. Thomaston (including Spruce Head), Hope, Union, Appleton, Montville, Searsmont, Cushing, Matinicus, North Haven, Vinalhaven, Stockton Springs, Morrill, and Northport.
