South Portland, ME - SHARE Willard Beach - Vote NO on the Dog Ban, a group of South Portland community members, has formed to defeat a November ballot initiative that would ban dogs from this City-owned public beach from April to October. The group has registered as a Political Action Committee (PAC) with the City of South Portland to encourage supporters to get involved and to raise funds to defeat the proposed ban. Over the coming months, the group plans a vigorous campaign to educate voters on the issue, explain why the freedom to share public open space affects everyone, and to encourage a NO vote on November 3rd.

Crystal Goodrich, member of SHARE Willard Beach – Vote NO on the Dog Ban, says “Families being able to walk with their pets at Willard Beach is a tradition treasured by many South Portlanders. Hopefully, in November, residents will vote NO to the proposed ban which aims to divide us. In the meantime, we encourage South Portlanders to visit the beach so they can see for themselves the sharing and sense of community that we all value so much.”
