Does your business have a program for community involvement? Here's a way to help a local non-profit and have fun at the same time! The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland is offering your business an opportunity to compete in their upcoming annual fundraiser, Paws in the Park Dog Walk that will take place on Sunday, September 20th. With Top Dog Sponsors Marc Gup of Keller Williams Realty and Harbor Consulting Services, Paws in the Park is one of The Animal Refuge League's largest, most highly publicized fundraisers of the year and they're looking for more corporate teams to participate by collecting pledges now and taking part in the festivities on the day of the event. Last year more than 300 people came out to walk with their family, friends and canine companions and with the participation of more corporate teams, the shelter looks forward to making this the most successful Paws in the Park ever!

Honorary chairperson and master of ceremonies, WMTW's Shannon Moss will host the event where two and four-footed animals alike will spend the day together enjoying a one-mile romp around Deering Oaks Park, food, demonstrations, pet items for sale and the chance to meet various breed rescue groups. There will be balloon animals and face-painting for the kids! The Walk begins at 11AM (registration is at 10 am) on Sunday, September 20, and the proceeds will help provide food, shelter, emergency, and preventative veterinary care, as well as a second chance for the more than 4,000 animals who come through the shelter's doors each year. Prizes will be awarded to best team, best child and best adult pledges. Pre-register now and save $5. Remember that you don't need to have a dog to participate!
